Have to ring 0871 number to arrange return?

Can it possibly be legal to force me to ring an 0871 (10p per minute) number to arrange a return? I've written to them by alternative means, requesting a geographical equivalent but it would help if I had some solid statutory foundation to demand it and a protocol to follow if it is denied.

I ordered a clay BBQ and after waiting two months for it to arrive, it's in pieces in the box. The webpage that gives the phone number is

[NOTE: I had to break the link because I'm a new posters and there are anti-spam measures in place. It's not really necessary to follow it in order to understand the issue though. If you want to fix it, just add the www.
]

and there is no alternative listed at saynoto0870.com

    Is the number you have been asked to ring 0871 231 5000?

    If it is, Saynoto0870 says that either 0161 386 2009 or 0161 386 2075 might work.

    If it isn't, what is the 0871 number?
    (sorry, can't see a number on your linked page)

  • Hi. Thanks for looking that up for me, but the number is 0871 230 0866.

    I did not realise that you have to be logged in to see that page.

    By taking the time and expense to write to them, would it not be more economical just to ring the number?
    Gone ... or have I?

    I reelly hate these premium numbers, I complain every time I use them.

    Had to call my bank this week as they sent me the wrong stationary, complained to the manager about my time on the premium number and he credited my account with £5.00.

    This is the only number I could find, but there are several companies listed at that address.
    All with the same director.
