Suspended parking warnings-what are the rules?

  • Just wanted to say that I used the template letter created by TheBogsDollocks above to appeal against a temporary bay suspension in Shanklin, Isle of Wight back in August. The suspension happened on the night of their carnival while my family and I were in a restaurant across the street. Even the locals got caught - the shopkeepers were furious and offered us all help to get off. Fortunately I was able to take a photograph of the paper sign put in a plastic sleeve showing that the ink had run in the rain. After a wait of almost 10 weeks for a reply, the council agreed that "this was not in a satisfactory condition" and cancelled the PCN. They also said that they would review the DoT requirements to ensure that their signs comply in the future. Here's hoping ... :)

But a huge "thank you" to TheBogsDollocks.
  • hello everybody .. thank you for an ideas :) i got a letter from newham council few days ago with contravention which says: Parked wholly or partly in a suspended bay or space.

What happened was .. i went on holiday and left my company car parked near work (with valid business permit) on thursday morning. I took a flight and got back to London on monday late evening. My car was surrounded by road works bars and wholes and i could see the yellow suspension warnings on a lamppost / they were not there on thursday when i parked my car there.

The penalty notice is from Monday 12:41pm (i picked up my car about 11pm on monday).

I didn't do anything because except a long scratch on my reat bumber there was nothing else, even a penalty on my screen .. so i forgot about it and it came on my mind after i got a letter.

Now .. i have 4 days to make representations .. can anybody advice what are my chances to get them cancel the PCN?

    thank's a lot.

Probably best to post this on https://www.pepipoo.com , they are the experts on this
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
