Just got myself a new HP laptop with Windows 7 on it. I have tried to install my Office 2003 onto the laptop but I keep getting the problem that the computer is not responding. Am I doing something wrong or is it the fact that there is a trial version of Office 2007 with the laptop, or is it something more obvious? Can anyone help please?

Office 2003 will work with windows 7, it may be due to the fact you have that 2007 trial version on already. Has that trial expired yet? If it has you have nothing to lose by unistalling 2007 and then trying the 2003 you already have. Hope this helps0

No it hasn't expired yet, maybe that's the problemThanks. It would seem that if I removed 2007, I can install it, I was more concerned that the disc may have been damaged or corrupt as the PC automatically seems to not respond

Whereas it is theoretically possible to have more than one version of Office installed on a PC, most people report that this causes endless and peculiar problems.
So if you had a 'trial' version of Office 2007 (or maybe 2010), make sure you've uninstalled it first before attempting the install of your Office 2003. (As littleman9 suggested!)0 -
Yipee!! done it! Just thought I would let you know and thanks for the hints and tips. I have completely uninstalled the trial version of office 2007 and have now installed my Office professional 2003 successfully, which shows that the two office programmes couldn't be installed at the same time on my PC :beer:If youcan lie down at night knowing in your heart that you just made someone’s day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day!!0
