Windows movie maker problem

Hi,
The first time I have tried movie maker and it freezes then reboots my system after I have captured video from my DV CAMCORDER. It informs me that windows has encountered a serious error, this then goes into error reporting and takes me to a M.S web page which advise me to install latest Video drivers, manually decrease hardware acceleration, this all done still got problem.
system:- Win XP+ AMD Athlon 2800 2 Ghz, +2 gig Ram+ Nvidia GF 6200 graphics card.
any ideas?

WMM was a bit flaky with XP, still is with windows 7, I've done a fair amount of editing with it and find that as long as you keep the clips fairly short say 15 -20 minutes I don't have many problems.
Try running windows update and see if that helps.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
