I'm selling an Xbox Premium on ebay and someone has asked. I didn't list this as a buying option - what are my options. Can I close an auction early without it being marked against me... is this considred unethical.
I don't think I should say a price either - I think I should ask her what she would like to offer and consider it - I might go in much too low.

I think the rules are that you can't sell to this person.
I had a similar experience when I was selling a mobile.
I politely emailed back saying that I didn't want to end the auction early as I wanted to sell the phone for more than what the buyer offered.
I also said "why not put in a bid, you never know you might win"
But he didn't!!
I think that you're not covered if this person scams you, so I would continue with the auction just in case!0 -
If there are no bidders yet, you can revise your item to add a Buy It Now option. If there are others watching your item, I would consider this slightly unethical, but not a major problem if it's a common item which other potential customers will still be able to buy elsewhere.0

Just had a similar message on a Simpsons DVD set i'm selling, just replied saying not listed as BIN so should bid and hope he wins. No bids as yet but 7 watching it so hopefully a bidding war will start soon lol0

It always irritates me that someone should expect you to change everything just for them and possibly lose out on a better price. You have no guarantee they will then use the buy it now option if you changed it.
It usually means they expect it to go higher than they want to pay .0 -
i always refuse a buy it now if an item of mine has bids on it.. if it has no bids then agree a price that is what u want...=======================

If someone has asked for a buy it now it normally means the item is going to sell for loads and they want a bargain. It will get bids at the end and it will e much more than they want to buy it now for. If it were me I would tell them that the BIN price is £600 and see if they still want it.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
