E: Unknown 2-4-1 Pureflo Water filter system

Pureflo are offering two of their water filter systems for the price of one. So £35 (including VAT & delivery) gets you two water filters that can easily be plumbed into a kitchen sink. The replacement filters cost £12 direct from Pureflo or can be bought from Wickes (which from memory may be a bit cheaper). Pureflo recommends the filters are changed every 6 months and they send you a reminder. I haven't bought one yet but they supply Wickes with an unbranded version, which for me is slight recommendation, although not all may agree.

Anyone got one?
Nice to save.

  • I saw Pureflow on Ideal World (shopping tv) a few months ago, where they were selling for the full price of £35 for one. Although I'm rarely taken by products on the channel, this looked genuinly usefull. I've looked at these systems in the past and this design certainly looks the easiest to use. Others have a tap which you turn, or a very tight bend at the top of the tap leaving it difficult to get some kettles etc.. under it.

The price seems good to me if you have a use for a second one.

  • I went for this package just after my last post.

No real complaints, just make sure you flush pleanty of water through it before you use it. Also this morning the water in my other tap went white, although I'm putting that down to the mains as I don't see how this could have caused it.

Hi, I am seriously thinking of getting one, but very worried about the installation. Iam not a DIY person at all. I see they do installation - does anyone know how much it is?

    many thanks

ooh, that would be spooky! Mine begins with a C :)

Eyes half closed I added water from the normal tap to my ribeana and it looked like purple milk! Can't be to do with the angle the filter is at, as they show it fitted vertically in the instructions.

Fitting is really easy, all you do is clamp one bracket to the cold water pipe remembering not to pierce the pipe till it's all fitted! If you do it once you won't do it again!! Drill one hole through the worktop or sink for the hose to go through and the rest are all push and click fittings. If you tighten everything up you can't really go wrong.

I'd imagine fitting would probably cost more than the kit, but it could be worth it if you didn't feel happy about doing it yourself.
