Help! Capsule wardrobe for a fat lass!

Without going into detail, I have put about 2 stone on in the space of a few months.
I now find that none of my clothes fit me, which is making me feel quite depressed and a vicious circle of emotional eating ensues.
I need some help and advise about putting together a capsule wardrobe that will see me through the summer/autumn. But I need to do it very, very cheaply.
Its the school hols now - so I've promised myself six weeks of healthy living whilst I'm busy with the little one. Just need something to wear.
Hopefully come winter I'll be getting back towards my normal size and back into my normal clothes.
Any pointers? I'm 5'4" and a size 16 by the way.

Hi!
Best to start off with a couple of basic colours like black and white, then add one colour that really suits you, (like blue). Then buy a few staples - in those colour, black trousers, white t-shirt/shirt etc. You can always jazz them up with accessories and you will have lots of clothes that will mix and match.
My "staple" is a pair of black trouser that really fit well. Then I can jazz up with a nice top to go out, a shirt for work etc.
And often places that cater for the larger lady (like me) do clothes from a 14 upwards but now in the sale these smaller sizes are the only ones left and really cheap. Its worth a look to find a bargain.
Also i'd advise get some pieces that really fit/flatter you well now. If you buy bits too small you'll just feel worse about yourself and eat more. (I put on 4 stone so you are a twig to me!)

Will be following this thread with interest - my waistline has ballooned as I'm on medication that is steroid based as my RA has really played up in the last 6 months so exercise has been sporadic - coupled with a sedentary job and limited spare cash has resulted in a 3st weight gain :eek:
I need some new (cheap & cheerful) basics until I can shift the weight:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

If you are happy to get a selection of casual clothing you could order a 'goody bag' from people tree. They are a fairtrade website and are doing a selection of clothes for £30. They are being discussed on the grab it board at the mo and I have a code on the discounts board which means you can get a bag delivered for £27. People tend to generally be getting tops, skirts, sometimes dresses- mix of casual and the odd dressy item. I mainly buy from there and find their clothing is really flattering. I just checked and they have a 16 in at the moment. Here are the threads:

I know this is slightly off topic, but did you know that you can lose a couple of stone in about 6 weeks following the Cambridge Weight Plan Sole Source?
Fully nutritionally complete and perfectly safe, it's gotta be worth a try, no?0 -
What utter rubbish, no it is not perfectly safe to lose two stone in six weeks, and there's over a 98% regain rate, waste of time.Snootchie Bootchies!0

There are quite a few sales on the hight street at the mo - and I second marrowgirls comments about the shops for larger ladies... there are always lots of size 14s and 16s in the Evans sale!
M&S have some good priced basic tshirts in. There are lots of leggings and tunics about at the mo, these are quite nice as well as the tunics are loose and flattering and leggings have stretch - so if your weight is a bit unstable there is room to go up or down and still look good!fran-o0 -

Current NICE guidelines for dealing with obesity ONLY recommend
diets / commercial weight loss plans that expect people to lose no more than 1-2 lb a week and are based on a balanced healthy diet.
I'm not saying it wouldnt work in the short-term if you stuck to it,
just that it's not considered a 'healthy' rate of weight loss by NICE nor likely to be successful in the long-term.
Apologies to OP for going off-topic, I'm sure the cambridge diet has its own thread elsewhere.Snootchie Bootchies!0
