Minute of "silence".

I see the board was closed out of respect for the people killed in the WTC. How about 10 minutes of silence for the thousands of civillians killed by US forces in Iraq?

It was the time the first plane hit, there is another one for the second plane. I saw the timetable on CNN this morning, think there is also one for the pentagon plane as well.0 -

We followed the official new york 12.46 gmt time (which is 1.46 here at the moment) thats why the minute silence. It was a very sad day five years ago and I'm sure we all remember it vividly from the images. I was on holiday but I have friends and family who were in New York and were effected, though none of them killed thankfully.
As for the silence for Iraq. If there is a UK wise recognised silence, as the one today is, then this site will follow it. On this issue it is my intent to be lead not to lead.

Well, yeah, sure it was. But tens of thousands of people die needlessly (although less spectacularly) every day and they don't get a minute's silence. Oh well, I guess there were probably a few "money saving" (i.e. tax-evading!) experts in the WTC.[size=-2]Matched betting profit: ~ £30,000 since Jan 2005

What UK-wide silence? I wasn't aware that there was one. Anyone who gets to decide these things, other than the deranged tabloid press editors?[size=-2]Matched betting profit: ~ £30,000 since Jan 2005
