Hope DH gets off early 2ngt, the weather not been brilliant here today.

Give you a laugh, we had a taxi to and from the theatre, the driver who took us, he said he was the only driver on all day, luckly the football match had got cancelled, when we came out they've passed the fayre to a black cab, apparently at 4.30pm - no drivers xx

If I had been driving a bit dodgy, there would have been people getting removed from their cars with aqua-vacs that day...

Whatever you do, don't pull out into a roundabout thinking you'll easily nip out in front of the guy driving the big [STRIKE]barge[/STRIKE] car - and then sit stationary directly in front of him, wheels spinning in the snow and being useless in the way we call "driving like a southerner".

Yes, it was quite amusing watching the brown tide rise up the windows of the car I'm now bearing down upon, but it gets a bit old after the second re-run.

Especially since it suddenly seems to be my problem to slide around the back of them, turn my [STRIKE]barge[/STRIKE] large car 90 degrees around them, and exit the roundabout travelling at least vaguely in the direction I'm facing.

And all the while, muppets 1-4 (it happened 4 times) are sat in the road, wheels spinning, with the accelerator buried in the carpet thinking that papping yourself while looking helpless is somehow a constructive input...

In short Taxi - good move by hubby to keep clear of the roads and the morons that inhabit them in the snow.

  • Some of the side roads round here are still like skating rinks - and outsides of roundabouts etc too, guess it must be even worse with you so glad to hear that your DH has got back OK tonight.

Mr EH and I spent an hour and a half yesterday morning clearing hard-packed ice off the road and footpath with a shovel so that my elderly aunt who was coming for the afternoon / evening could safely get from the car to the house.

HI Taxi glad to hear that your family had a good day over christmas, even if you were feeling it a bit. It is amazing that you are nearly at the end of the rad treatment now. I hope that you will be able to have a relaxing few days

Glad to hear that your OH got let off early. What a downer that he HAS to work in such foul weather.

    Best wishes for 2011.

sorry you're feeling tired after the rads, but it will get better, and is to be expected. DS was going to go to town last night, but friend who is private hire driver said there were very few cabs out.

It's started to thaw a bit here, (Merseyside) so hope its getting better for you.
