    Hi everyone,

Another £29 put in savings today...a bag of £1 coins and £9 paypal money...not far off 50% in savings towards mortgage now.

Have been out to do banking and renew my taxi badge but not a lot else will be done today as I am tired and with chemo due wednesday need to take it easy(though I take it easy anyway..lol)

hope everyone is having a good day

Using quidco and getting my insurance cheaper were some of the first things that I learned when joining MSE - I do wonder sometimes if newbies miss them now because the diaries are on a different page than the SOAs etc.

Anyway, that is my job for the weekend, to do my insurance - I have already discovered one cheaper quote so I know I can save money on my renewal, the question is, how much *more* can I save :D

OOh, I hope I can - mine's up in January, and since this house is a bit smaller and in a cheaper area (and I have less stuff, after all that decluttering :rotfl:) I hope I can.

So the next lot of chemo is due, Taxi - yep, the only answer is to build up your strength beforehand, I guess. Take care

I agree re the newbies probably missing stuff...I very rarely go on there now...mostly on here, savings and investments, banking and MF...at least this place keeps me out of trouble..lol

Am sure you'll both find cheaper insurance...always feels good when I save something.

Not looking forward to the chemo as i know how I'm going to feel for 7 to 10 days after..yuck

    Hi Taxi,
I also have my house and car insurance with LV. In the last couple of years had to claim on both and they have paid out, no hassle. A tip for next year when the renewal is due go via quidco as a new customer it maybe cheaper then the renewal quote. Quidco did take about six months to pay out, but i did receive it.

    Take care.

HI EMMA glad to hear they pay out if needed.
I used quidco last year to renew with coop as it was cheaper and obviously for cashback.

When my car insurance renewal came through few months ago, it had shot up a ridiculous amount. So a trip to moneysupermarket.com was made. Guess who was the cheapest? My existing company! So I cancelled my existing policy, took out a new one with the same company, ending up paying about a pound a month less than I was paying before, and got £58 cashback through going through Topcashback! Now that is what I call a result!

Other insurance renewals recently (gas boiler insurance and plumbing and drainage cover) showed big increases. My OH phoned the companies and complained and got a large chunk of the increases knocked off, so it pays to complain.
