Don't Buy Hotpoint/Indesit

Hotpoint provided an RLS150P to replace an earlier Hotpoint fridge that expired after only 3 years. The fridge makes too much noise (53DB instead of the specified 42), and has an excessive temperature range within it - you can't get the top shelf to 5 degs without items at the bottom freezing. Hotpoint engineers and customer service refuse to do anything about it and are completely useless.
The design is also poor - only 3 shelves with virtually no adjustment. The door shelves can't be adjusted either. The salad boxes are too small and the one next to the door is difficult to use because the door only opens to 90 degs.
Do not buy any fridge from Hotpoint or Indesit as they are badly designed and won't get fixed if they go wrong.

How long have you had the fridge?

I understand your frustration about the fridge not working as it should but when you bought the fridge did you not look inside it to check things like the size of the salad boxes and if the shelves where adjustable?

Velcro , when its a replacement for a faulty one, they don't give you any choice! And you presume it will be similar. My Hoover washing machine died after 6 weeks and the engineer said it had to be replaced . I was lucky and got the next size up as the original was discontinued and there was one of the larger ones in the warehouse. It didn't fit the space of the old one and I had to redesign the kitchen!

You know what, you should give your local trading standards office a call:

Did you contact the trader directly, or just the manufacturer?
