I recently purchased a dress . The label stated to handwash, which I did. The black dye ran into the white and turned it grey. I took it back to the shop and they took it from me and said they would contact the supplier. I thought it was up to the shop to refund me??

Your contract is with the retailer. The retailers is with the suppliers.
