Cracks in bay window ceiling

Options
I had new, internal shutters fitted on Monday in the bay window of my bedroom. The men removed the vertical blinds which were previously there and fitted shutters by installing what looks like a sort of architrave round the window and then fitting shutters. Firm was local, established one. The other night (Thurs I think) I was in bed and heard a loud "clunk" but have been hearing creaks from all the plastic soffits etc. in the hot weather. However I noticed this morning that there is a crack on the bay celing running from the window to the edge of the bay, and cracks around the edges of the bay (where it joins the side of the window). It looks like the sort of cracks you get in older houses when the plasterboard separates.
Has anyone any thoughts on whether it is the fitting of the shutters that may have caused this, or just coincidence? They don't seem too bad at the moment, and I think I can fill and paint them fairly easily, but concerned they will get worse.

It depends where the shutters were actually fixed to and if the load has pulled on the plasterboard.

You can fill edge cracks easily with flexible caulk, but most cracks in ceilings other than the edge always seem to reappear
