Can Banks take charges from another account you hold with them?

Hi

I have £60 worth of bank charges going out on wednesday (already received a goodwill gesture of removed the 3rd - how generous!) I have my rent going out at the end of the week so these charges are seriously going to affect me - could you tell me if i can transfer the funds in my account to the 'websaver' account i have with them so they cant take it or can they still take it from there? Please help before Wednesday pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeese! xx

Quick answer: Yes they can. They're not likely to though....

Not so quick answer: Why are you risking incurring even more charges? If you withdraw the money to 'prevent the charge' being withdrawn, how are you going to pay your rent.

On top of that, if you have zero in your account, they'll take the £60 and leave you with -£60 which I suspect will result in another £30 fee....

Wouldn't the simplest solution to prevent further trouble be to trasfer £60 *from* your websaver, then start the 'claim back your charges' route that various others on here seem to advocate.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
