Should I apply for another Sub prime Card?

Posted this on the end of the Sygma thread but thought should be in main area. Apologies for duplication

I have a Natwest current account with no overdraft facility ditto Co-op and HSBC all with Visa debit card. I have adverse credit as I have a default registered in 2007 by EGG which Im paying at £250 per month and ends next year. Nothing else on my credit file. No loans, a mortgage of 50% LTV. A Cap 1 card which I have had for 7 years never missed a payment but do only make minimum monthly direct debit. That has a credit limit of £900 and has never been increased (I did do a charges and PPI claim on it 4 years ago) I was accepted for a Vanquis card 3 weeks ago with a limit of £500. Is it worth me applying for a Sygma card and if so which 1? I dont want the credit its just that Im going on a holiday to the US in Dec and a couple of cards would be useful for that so intend to pay any purchases in full at the end of the stat paymen period. I earn 50k per year. I am on the electoral roll for current property (been here for over 4 years) and all previous addresses.
Its weird as my OH has 5 defaults but can still get overdraft etc
Any advice would be welcome

You aleady have 2 credit cards, why dont you clear the balances on that ( You say you going to pay off your holiday spending in full, so I assume you can clear your cards now). You can always ask for a credit limit increase from Cap1 if you need more.

Yes typhoon I hear what you say the new Vanquis has a nil balance. Used it to pay for sons MCFC card then paid it off but the Cap1 (dont no what type it has tiger on) I dont seem to be able to win with. paid it off. limit reduced. Used it and paid dd per month limit reduced didnt useit for months limit reduced further so just want to pay that off n cut it up as it doesnt seem to do anything whatsoever for my credit rating im sure this is to do with claiming against them

If you want a new card go for it apply

I would not take advice on a forum if you look at all the threads its mixed people with great credit getting refused ect you need to look and see if you need the card if so go for it if not dont mind its a search on your credit file
If you dont like me remember its mind over matter, I dont mind and you dont matter ;)
