planning portal site location costs

does anyone know where to get a location plan & a site plan cheaper or for free. planning portal & my local planning office, want to charge me £19.50 each. Apparently you cannot use Google earth as its got to be a certain scale. Help

that's just the standard price unfortunately, it's meant to be an os map and you have to pay for the copyright license, i have never managed to find one that will be approved for less that 19.50 (unless i know the neighbour has developed recently!)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. You need to watch out by using streetwise maps....it may not be to scale and you could be wasting your money.
Planners are quite sticky on this; remember, the longer you take to get a Block/Site plan, the longer it will take for your planning application to beocme valid.
