Gap & tyre insurance

We purchased a car last November & took out additional gap & tyre insurance. We've now realised that the car is not suitable due to expanding family, but we've been told this insurance is non-transferable, therefore we would have to continue payments for another 2 & half years even if we change the car.

Does anyone know if there is anything we can do?

If you have to pay this insurance monthly it sounds like you have been completly ripped off. My gap insurance for my brand new car was only £140.

I am really not sure what you can do because I assume all this was in the small print.

Wouldn't that be classed as an unfair clause in the terms ? Last year I complained about a similar clause when I cancelled a policy mid term, they wanted almost all the full year premiums for having a policy for 2 months, they said because it was my first year with them they would not pro rata it, they have altered their terms now as it was deemed unfair. So I would take it further if I was you.
