Ipod Touch

Does anyone know if the ipod touch has a built-in speaker or whether you have to use the earphones all the time? We want to buy one for our son for his birthday, but don't want him having ear phones in the whole time. To be honest he'll be using it for the games and apps more than music. Thanks. :T

More like BBC iPlayer, videos, music than a few games and apps. Over ear headphones are better than the ones supplied, the new iPad is better and bigger screen. Battery life is much higher too. Don't forget the case cover too. There is no mic on the iTouch either.

Why not buy some mini speakers? The sound is low from the Touch without headphones.

I recently bought XMI X-mini II Mini Speaker for my iPhone. It's really good quality and extremely small and portable with a decent battery life

Looks a great idea - you can add more in a daisy chain if you want! I notice it says it's pocket size - but does it have a belt clip on it at all?
