Selling off-site driveway to neighbour?

The main issue is the potential loss of value to my house, it's certainly not really adding anything in its current state and if I made enough money to tart up the driveway in front of the house I'm not sure it would be an issue either. I suppose it all comes down to what he's willing to offer.
I don't have any ideas about the legal costs at the moment, I haven't heard back from my solicitor yet.
It is definitely adding value at the moment. A garage is a MUST for some people so getting rid of the existing driveway and carport (which could be converted to a garage) would mean that some people wouldn't even view your property in the future. And most people don't keep cars in their garage - they keep bikes, garden furniture, use it as a workshop etc.
You say you live in a mid-terrace so it's not as if future buyers have space to build a new garage on your existing land.
When you bought this place, you paid more for it than a similar mid-terrace house with no extra driveway and carport right?
Just get the feeling that you are selling this valuable asset short. Just because you don't use it doesn't mean that it won't be valuable to buyers in the future.0 -
I'm not selling it short because there isn't an offer on the table for me to consider yet, as it stands I'm not going to use it but I do understand it could be used in the future. Will have to see.0
