Just in cvase anyone hasn't noticed, avira are having issues with their updates again :(

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

    Guys, for info, I finally got to the bottom of this. Around a week ago, I'd switched to OpenDNS for another issue, and hadn't moved back off it. Went back to my normal DNS server this morning, and Avira happily updated itself :)

    OpenDNS issue rather than Avira :(

    Yes, I think there was a biggish update a short while ago which tends to slow down their servers. At such times I tend to do a manual update:

  • i had problems, so binned it off and went AVG free. Prefer it to Avira tbh

    REALLY don't get this...avg is inferior in terms of detections and resource-hogging...why d'you do it ????

    Just curious, Dan - do you also have Limewire?

    It's just that almost everyone I see with AVG installed, also has Limewire. And wonders why their computer is messed up.
