House of Fraser Vouchers - Expired!

I have £100 of House of Fraser Vouchers which I have been saving. I went to use them last night and was told that they had expired (on 31 May). :(

I had not noticed the tiny date on the back of the vouchers, which are the old paper kind.

I have written a mail to their Customer Service address but been told...

"Thank you for your email. Unfortunately as your vouchers have now expired, they are no longer valid. The vouchers a re non transferable and can not be reissued either. Apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Does anyone know if I can do anything else? I am really upset!

Many thanks :)

    How did you obtain them?

Were they a gift or given from another company or bought from HOF themselves? I'd want to write (or email but writing seems to have better results from others experience). Otherwise I'd email HOF back again and beg and plead. May not work but at least you'd know you have tried everything.

I got some from my credit card company for signing up to go "paperless". They drew my attention to the expiry date of mine in their covering letter which was just as well as the ppint on the back of the vouchers is tiny as Maddissj says.
  • I got the vouchers for completing 30 years with my employer. I am sure that it sounds stupid that I didn't spend them, but I wanted to buy something to keep.

Thank you both :T ... I will write a letter. It has made me look at other vouchers that I have and I have a couple of Next vouchers that say .. these expire after 2 years but you can get them re-validated ... I think that I may mention this too.

If I have any joy I will certainly spend them straight away!

Just to add, it can help to add something like "I had my heart set on....(insert item name here) and was saving up to buy it because (insert dire situation or celebration date here", just to paint out the story a bit more so they can see your an actual person, customer rather then just another email or letter to decline that day.

Maybe also write to your past employer? see if they can do anything.

Good luck with it any how.
