Anyone have Freeview HD?

A friend of mine has just bought a Sony television - a 32EX403 I think. He has it set up and working ok but can't find any HD channels. According to the Freeview site he should get 3 HD channels at his address.
Will they be standard numbers in the guide or are they accessed separately? Can anyone help please? I can't have a look myself as he's too far away.

The tv might be an older one just before the HD ciruitry was installed maybe? HD Freeview TV's haven't been out too long to be honest.
Looks like he'll be getting a HD freeview box to go with it...0 -
Sorry, I should have mentioned the tv has a built in Freeview HD tuner.0

Anyhoo the channel numbers are:-
50 BBC HD Entertainment - HD Freeview HD areas only HD 51 ITV1 HD / STV HD Entertainment - HD Freeview HD areas only HD 52 Channel 4 HD Entertainment - HD Freeview HD areas only HD 53 S4C HD Entertainment - HD Wales Freeview HD areas only HDThat gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Im sure you must have thought of this - but when I first got my HD Freeview built in tv, I didnt realise there are two buttons on the top of the remote, one has DTV on it - namely digital - and once I saw that and used it I got my freeview channels. But maybe your friend is a bit brighter than me.0

Is your TV Aerial pointing at the transmitter that is broadcasting HD.?
Often there are 2 sometimes 3 transmitters that can be received at some locations.0 -

I think you may have hit the nail on the head there. He lives in a block of flats in Stevenage. The communal aerial has been recently installed. I would assume it would need to be pointing at Crystal Palace to get HD but is probably pointing towards one of the others in the area. So there's probably nothing he can do.0 -
Stevenage would be in the Sandy Heath area, not that many miles away, Crystal Palace is south of London and a long way away.0

Does Freeview HD work of normal aerial or do you need to hook it upto Sat like FreeSat?:T:T:T:T:T:T:T0

If he's getting the signal from crystal palace, then there should be HD. If he's getting it from sandy heath, then he won't get HD until april next year.
Go to freeview.co.uk, put his postcode and house number into the coverage checker and see what transmitter he should be getting it from and what channels are on offer.0
