Thanks again
I think I will probably use the carpark then. I am not sure how many bags my sister will have. I guess it will be worth it for peace of mind.0 -
thanks for the info on parking. am also going tomorrow night and hadnt thought about where to park0

I've never had to park around there myself as I just get the bus but a lot of people just park across the water on Govan Road and then walk over the Bells Bridge to get to the SECC.
Within the last few weeks, that whole length of Govan Road has been given double yellow lines because of the problems caused by cars parking half on pavement, half on road, on both sides of the street. It was mainly used by BBC and STV staff who did not have permits for their own car parks. They now have to pay to use the Science Centre car park.0 -
Went by Govan Road yesterday they seem to have got round the problem of the new double yellow lines, they're just parking completely on the pavement now! Seriously though, we have been to a few recordings at the BBC recently (just on the other side of the river from the SECC) and have been parking in the Science Centre car park. It's three pounds for all day parking and I think its only a short(ish) walk across the bridge to the SECC, I will definitely be using it next time I go to the SECC as £6 for an hour or two at an exhibition which probably costs around a tenner to get in to is daylight robbery! Don't forget to get a token at the kiosk in the car park, though, as you will need this to get out. Also if you park on that side of the river you could swing by Springfield Quay on the way to eat if anything there takes your fancy. Have a great time!0

Don't worry, GCC will be down shortly to get the budget deficit in the cooncil halved.
Not surprised it happened, was fine when it was the occasional few cars, but with the offices and BBC there it was a bit out of control- parked on roundabouts and buses squeezing past.0 -
Prudent - just wondering if you were one of the many ticket winner who didn't get in last night?0

Thank you to evryone who contributed, much appreciated.
I did get into the show. Thankfully I arrived early to meet my sister and we decided to collect the tickets then to avoid queues later.
We had a lovely meal at the India Quay and it was only £10.95 for two courses which was very reasonable for the quality.
The show was fantastic. There was a great atmosphere and Rod put his all in.
I had won spa vouchers earlier in the year, so yesterday we went to Edinburgh for a spa day which was bliss.
I rarely see my sister, so the whole few days were a real treat.0 -
Glad to here you & your sis had such a good time & that you got into the show ok0
