Hiya my friends are in a cheerleading squad (I dont wanna do all the stunts lol) and their currently fundraising for their internationals costumes for next year its approx £100 for each top and skirt for the girls and they have fundraised £300 so far. Is there anyway that we can make them a proper registered fund so it would be easier to donate

Not easily, but there are grants available, eg Awards for All.

Find your local Community Foundation from the following site and see if they will make a grant.
My local Community Foundation (Nottinghamshire) have made grant to a cheerleading squad, and do look favourably on groups catering for young people.

These are the grants made on my local Community Foundation web site

25/09/2008 Ice Diamonds Cheerleaders Funding to purchase 5 safety mats, some gymnastic training aids and to provide the opportunity for 3 senior cheerleaders to attend the BCA Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Grassroots Grants Programme £2,220.00
25/06/2007 Blue Sapphires Support Group To fund the development of the cheerleading squad through workshops, trips to cheer competitions, squad uniforms, and specialist coaching days Local Network Fund £7,000.00
07/02/2007 Nottingham Wildcats Cheerleaders Funding to develop Cheerleading squad Sport Relief £2,647.15
You have to try locally as there is still some money out there, especially for funding young peoples activities.0 -
I would go for Awards for All - their criteria are clear and cover the whole of England. Maximum grant is £10k. In my experience Community Foundations can be a bit picky and can sometimes favour organisations they know, whereas A4A is more transparent.
You need to really go heavy on the need for your project and the outcomes you will deliver. PM me is you need support.0 -

As with most things it varies in different parts of the country I work with charities and the voluntary sector, and find the Community Foundation very good, whereas Awards 4 All (Big Lottery) not so good.
The message is find out what is available in your area and go for it.0
