First dance songs???

Myself and my H2B are having trouble trying to think up a song to have our first dance to.... i'm hoping that you guys can help.

We're after something a bit usual, we were thinking about Gavin Rossdale's 'love the remains the same' but are unsure about the meaning, and also 'stir it up' by Bob Marley but aren't sure if that would be suitable for a wedding. Any ideas in this matter would be massively appreciated thanks

we keep chaning our minds. First it was Camilla Kerslake "cant help falling in love" elvis presley cover version, then it was Snow Patrols "Chasing Cars" sung by a female but a slow version nows its going to be Leona Lewis "Run" x

:D or, more accurately, Leona Lewis' cover version of 'Run' by Snow Patrol! People always seem to forget that it was their song first!

Beautiful song though, I love it!

    Lol :)
I went to see Snow Patrol live last year and they played 'Run' and Gary Lightbody joked that everyone always forgot that it was their song after Leona Lewis did her version of it. They did the most beautiful acoustic version, it was amazing!

we were going to have Snow Patrol 'Yes'-its a fab song, and we were in the car one day and it wa playing and we just kinda looked at each other and said thats it!
But now, I think my sister and her band are writing us a song specific to us which will be even better!

We are going for 'Come what May ' by Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor from Moulin Rouge. If I can get thru it without blubbing.... :)

If you have chosen a song that's personal to you two I would run with that. We chose a song when we first got engaged because it had meaning to us... the times we'd listened to it together etc, it was a slightly odd choice and we were worried about the meaning and also the weirdness of it, so we spent ages trying to find something different.... we ended up with our song and I'm so glad we did, it made it so special and we both had a twinkle in our eyes remembering all the occassions that had made the song so special in the first place. No body seemed to notice the meaning of the song, and the only comments we got were how nice it was to hear something different. However if you asked the guests now I bet less that 5% of them could remember what it was!
Go with your instinct and choose something that regardless of it literal meaning has a meaning for you.
    Bump due 22nd September
