Car Insurance- What to declare after accident by named driver

This might be really obvious but I'm not sure what to do. Last year my partner had an accident with another vehicle whilst driving my car, it was deemed 50/50. She's a named driver on my insurance.

Now my new quote has come through I want to shop around, but what do I put for claims? Because I have made a claim and it's been settled etc. on my insurance but I wasn't driving, if I then add her on the insurance it's like I'm declaring the accident twice when I'm applying is this the right way to do it?

Thanks

Yes, you have a claim to declare, they have an accident to declare.

    No.

    You don't declare it twice.

You only need to declare it once. You just declare it when inputting her details.

(If she isn't continuing as a named driver, then you would then declare the claim in your own history, as she would have to if applying for her own policy)

Mine specifically asked if I have had a claim on my insurance, the next screen asks who was driving, fault etc.
Then it asks on the named driver screen about accidents.
I can't see how answering no to the first question would be correct, particuarly as a claim will be recored against the op, and his ncd will have gone down in the year.

How you arrive at your current level of NCD is immaterial to the history questions, (and most insurers ask for proof of whatever level (if any) you have asked to be taken into account).

As already posted you don't need to put a claim down against both drivers on the one policy. But if the "offending" driver is no longer to be covered, then you do declare it under your own history.

Under your way of doing things, two drivers get "punished" when only one has had a claim.
