Sorry to butt in - but I'm looking for the same sort of thing in Staffordshire or maybe the borders of the neighbouring counties of Shropshire or Cheshire. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be very grateful.
Also - what seems to be the going rate for a village hall?0 -
there are quite a few in staffordshire/cheshire that i have come across! hitched.co.uk has lots of venues on in that area!!:j0
-
will have a look at that - thanks!
I've been looking for a few weeks now and only seem to be able to find stately homes and the like - far too formal and WAY out of my budget!0 -
The hitched website doesn't really have any village halls listed. The venues are all really expensive!

sorry kulafey, i have looked at that many i must be going it crackers:doh:
Ok so going to view some venues next week one is a hotel which looks lovely but the other am really excited about is a water mill, there is a barn attached to it which u can hire for events it has a bar and alcohol and music liscense! the capacity is a bit less than we wanted but after speaking to the venue they said there is option for a marquee as well.
Marquees seem quite expensive tho.... need to do more research on that tho...
Also would get outside caterers in which gives us loads of freedom but wanted to know if anyone out there had any advice, there would be a lot to do on the day to ensure all ran smoothly........?:j0 -
we found it!!!! Its a beautiful barn on the site of mill just minutes from my parents house! we will get married at local church and then have our reception at the barn! Its liscensed for alcohol and music and we could bring our own drinks though there is also a little bar in the corner! Its very reasonable to hire and is just perfect only problem is not quite big enough for the amount of guests we have, however we are able to have a marquee outside, we wanted to have this to eat in and then dancing in the barn!!!!
Really fallen in love with one of those tipi type ones but they are pretty pricey!!!
