Would you recommend shared hosting, VPS hosting or dedicated hosting and why? Which is best...Your views, experiences welcome.

I wouldn't recommend either without assessing a person's needs and abilities.
A VPS or dedi will cost more than shared hosting, and they are more hands-on than shared hosting. There's a lot more you can do with a VPS/dedi compared to shared. For certain sites you might need more than shared hosting can offer in terms of flexibility, running scripts etc.
It's not hard to move to a different host with only a little downtime if you outgrow your current hosting package, so start with a package that will give you a little room to grow, then upgrade if necessary.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0
