People congregating under my flat

I'm sure it was actually on MSE i first heard about it. As for the point about lights (i think whitehorse made?), having a motion sensor light might discourage them from congregating there.
Teenagers rarely want to be in plain sight when they're getting up to no good!
As for the not being physically abusive because its a small village......what about their parents? Are they the type of parents to discipline their kids or let them run riot? Maybe drop them a letter anonymously if you dont want them knowing its you?
As a teenager (and still now even as an adult!) i am more terrified of my mother than i am of the police!
Well, when the PCSO called he advised me not to talk to the parents directly because they are not "cooperative". But I will investigate nonetheless
Thing is, it is such a small village that I am sure the police knows who the kids are even before they turn up. They have been a pain in several other places around the village. In a very weird way, I feel sorry for them. There is nothing to do around here and the public transport are almost non existant.
Terrified of your mum, eh? I think we are all terrified of our mothers when they get angry :rotfl:I think you should have a medeival theme night at your flat with maybe yourself and a good DVD.
At the appointed time tip the vat of boiling oil over the balcony followed by large boulders. Then prepare your longbow and a few arrows to see off any stragglers.
Alternatively a hose may do the job.4743hudsonj wrote: »
Oh lord, you really make me laugh :rotfl:I so wish I could do the medieval stuff
At least, these kids don't seem to be dangerous, I guess they're just bored. 0 -
You could always get a mosquito asbo device, though they are about £500. They emit a really annoying sound under 25's hate, though of course if you have under 25's as neighbours you may not be popular & this isn't moneysaving
We have the same problem here with groups of teenagers congregating, they said they can't get in the park as it's locked early so the local copper asked the parish council to open it until 9pm & had a word with them & they seem to have mostly moved on.
Anti climb paint is fab, except we apparently have it on the back fence & it hasn't been redone so no longer works lol0 -

What happened to the good old rotten-egg hydrogen sulphide stink bombs that I used to buy as a kid? Have these been banned? These ammonium ones are rubbish in comparison.
They don't make 'em like they used to ...0 -

When I was about 11 or 12, I left off two of those HS stink bombs in my local library. It had to be evacuated due to the smell, and was closed for the rest of the day. The incident even made the local free newspaper. Fortunately, I was never caught."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -

The police don't close unsolved, outstanding case files. Hope you've hidden your ISP details.

please do not invest in one of those boxes that emits a hideous noise to the younger generation, I am one of these young people, and they fitted one outside the co-op near to us, I couldn't stand going there and switched to another shop up the road, Luckily they have now removed it, I'm more likely to pop in for bread and milk than to steal from them to be honest! :rotfl:PasturesNew wrote: »Play some hideous classical music... can you rig up a wireless tiny speaker? Or investigate one of those boxes that emits a noise that's hideous to them.
Also, let the local PCSO blokes know... they're the ones that walk about ... tell them they need to walk about where you live a bit more.
It is a little sterotypical of all young people being thugs, it's not just the troublesome young ones who'll hear it, but also the young ones who have done nothing wrong. Such as myself :A0 -
I'm days shy of 40 but apparently my hearing age is 17 - I am driven bonkers by high-pitched noises (eg phone charger my wife believes to be silent I hear loud and clear)
What I would suggest though is if you can play opera out of a small speaker somewhere - it is terminally uncool. Or GCSE Maths revision tapes. Or some pure bubblegum pop/boy band they think is 'kids music'. Find what 12-13 year-olds like, and that will pretty much be kryptonite to 15-17 yr olds ;-)0
