Had a weird letter from Scottish Power

Its saying that "It has come to our attention that money has stopped coming into your pre-payment electricity account. This may be due to a new payment allocation system adopted by the industry last year. Our concern is without this money a debit balance may accumulate on your account"

It then tells me to contact the to discuss the matter

Now Im pretty sure I havent done anything wrong- and Ive definately been topping up the meter key- so I presume its them that has made a cockup somewhere along the line

Has anyone else had this?

It sounds very fishy to me - If you do contact them, don't use any contact details included in the letter but use those on their web site

The reason I say this is because there have been reports of people getting similar letters claiming to be from banks/BT etc which are fake and if you call using the details in the letter, you will simply be asked for your bank details etc - so make sure you call a number you know is legimate.
