Google Earth Problem

Whenever I open Google Earth, the whole Orb appears as though it has a white fog surrounding it, If I try to zoom into a place, its bleached out, like a fog.

I dont have this problem with Live Local or Multimap. and until recently, never had this with google. I have tried an uninstall and re-installed from scratch, but still no joy, I suspect it has something to do with http://www.googleearthhacks.com from where I downloaded an overlay to show the earth at night, but I cant seem to get rid of it.

Help please!!!!!
