Trying to get deposit back!

Hello,
I would just like some advice really!
I moved out on 30th June from my old house and according to the Tenancy Agreement am entitled to my deposit back within 21 days of vacation, or in special circumstances as soon as possible with the landlord informing me in writing for reasons for the dealy.

As yet I have had no contact from the landlord.

As he has broken the contract, where do I stand?

N.B He was an awful landlord and i think he will try and take deductins from the deposit for cleaning even though the house was cleaner when we left than when we moved in!

Thanks,

Could you check either the date or your use of tenses please? Was the tenancy subject to English law and if so is your deposit protected and in which scheme?

Erm, what date did you move out? You said 31st July but that can't be right.

Only 30 days in June but I'll let you off ;)

It is only 2 days since the 21 days were up. Have you contacted the deposit people?

  • oh god I am really not with it today! I have edited it again, i need to start proof reading!
I know it hasn't been long however i am in desperate need of the money and from the type of landlord he has been over the past year I know it is going to be a pain to get it back!

Have you been in contact with the relevant deposit scheme to ask if any disputes have been placed on the return of the deposit?
