I did a search but couldn't find anything on this forum for http://www.ourproperty.co.uk
This will give you the actual selling prices (as opposed to asking prices) of properties in a street or postcode area and I found it very interesting and useful.

Thanks Robert
I had a quick look at nethouseprices.com and it seems to be the same information as ourproperty.co uk but presented slightly differently. It's quite late and I'm tired so perhaps I'm missing something though?0 -
With nethouseprices you don't have to register, same with houseprices.co.uk
There are loads of these sites all doing a similar thing.
Any that ask for registration need to give something extra.0 -
Thanks nrsql. I'd registered with ourproperty a while ago. I don't like doing ths so wish I'd known about the others at the time!0

My personal favorite is http://www.houseprices.co.uk (i have no interest or connection with it either!) it's simple google like interface and maps features are the best points IMHO.0 -
I see ourproperty.co.uk now has a database of prices pre 2000 whereas nethouseprices still only has them back as far as 2000. Searching on my road, I found entries back to 1995. As mentioned it does require registration but I've been signed up for some time and don't get any junk from them just notices when someone sells in my vicinity.
With even older data perhaps they're expecting values to fall back further than we thought :rolleyes:Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
Land Registry data on homes sold since the year 2000 for England & Wales totals around 7-8 million records. Adding the 1995-2000 set adds around another 5 million records, although a certain number of these will be duplicates of the later set.
Basically, the idea is more data = more accurate statistical reporting.
But, the 1995-2000 set is older and less relevant and more prone to registration errors and mistakes (by solicitors sending in the forms), although Land Reg have 'cleaned' the list as much as they are able.
Although the older data set won't be available on most house price sites due to the cost of purchase, ourproperty are wrong to claim (as they did in a recent newsletter issue) that they are the only site to publish the older set.0 -
I also noticed that Ourproperty was doing pre 2000, on my road it only goes back to 1995. Does anyone know if they have plans to go back further? Back to 1991 would be great for those wanting to challenge their Council Tax bands.0
