help with my acer please?
Hi,
I bought one of the small Japanese Acers from Tesco a few weeks ago. I have put it in a pot and supported it with a cane as it was only around 30cm tall. It is growing new branches, but I've noticed that the tops ones don't seem to be forming properly, it's as if the leaves look like a caterpillar has eaten bits. Plus other leaves seem to 'stunt' and bunch/curl at the end. It's difficult to explain! I can't see any caterpillars and it looks as if the leaves have just grown like that. Does anyone have any advice please?

Hello
Could it be too dry- or getting dried out intermittently?
I've certainly seen that sort of leaf curl on mine when allowed to dry out- if this is possible answer suggest plunge in acontainer of water for afew hours to ensure compost gets properly wet again

Thanks - I don't think it's too dry - I make sure it's always watered, and the leaves aren't dried and curled, just curled and stunted. I'm puzzled!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked
