Leg for Worktop/bar - help!!

Hi all
I'm having a new 300cm laminate worktop fitted in my kitchen.
125cm of it, on the right, is positioned over the washing machine and dryer (each 60cm) - that leaves just 5cm for a worktop leg. However, it seems standard worktop legs come in 87 x 6 cm, so that will be too big!
Does anyone know where I could buy a worktop leg with a thinner diameter than 6cm - or alternatively, a wooden bracket of some sort that would run vertically from the worktop all the way down to the floor?
Many thanks

You could use a 'gable end' or a bit of 15mm x600mm melamine/conti board instead of the leg.0

you could try B&Q they do a range of legs in their hardware section and you can check thier website to see if they have the size your looking for just put leg into the search box0

Thats what I have in my kitchen, works fine. Fridge freezer is alongside it so you only see the front edge. Front edge of all the units is white board anyway.
just saying its a perfectly good solution.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0 -
Try friendly local timber merchant, advice and helpful.0

Thanks to everyone for advice.
My builder's not very proactive - if there's a worktop leg there he'll fit it without thinking if the other units will fit - he won't come up with a solution himself, that's why i want to prepare things myself..0 -
You want a wardrobe rail. Usually come in chrome colour and they are about 18mm diameter. Try a local hardware shop or iron mongers (not B&Q). They will cut to size as well and don't forget to buy a couple of roses as well.0

I would consider this the normal way to do it.....legs supporting the end of the worktop would look odd, and leave the space behind the appliance visible.
If your unit doors are other than white, it is quite common to use a veneered board that matches the doors.0 -

IKEA sell legs separately (for their desks)..they're really cheap slim too, in different colours.0 -

Thats what I used when I was fitting a worktop in the garage. A lot cheaper than the legs you can get and works just as well (but I did get mine from B&Q).0
