Mine is 16 months old !!

ANYWAY, I am aware technology has changed a lot over the year with DVD recorders. Can someone recommend (or point me in the right direction) of a good DVD recorder ? Are the ones with hardrive as good as they seem ? I would want one that supports DVD + Rs since that's what I have. Are there any machines that can use +Rs and -Rs ?

Thanks in advance

It depends how much you want to spend!

I think most of the new models will be multi format, so will support -R and +R.

Panasonic always seem to get good write ups, but they are also among the most expensive.

I'm also looking for a good deal on a DVD recorder, so if anyone knows any good deals on Panasonics....

That's good to know that the new ones are multi formats. I will spend as much as I need to get good value - not necessarily the cheapest.

The two units below look good. The Humax seems to get regularly recomended, there was a comet £20 off voucher around not so long ago. Got Panasonic myself.

Will the fact that it has built in digital freeview clash with my telewest box at all ? I don't want to get rid of my telewest box at the moment as I haggled with them for a great deal which includes free digital tv.

No it won't clash. and I would also go for a Panasonic which is a usually highly reliable producer of DVD recorders.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????
