Me neither. But perhaps the money is too much of a draw? Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees. There are now so many ways this could go wrong, I would not risk it.0

I fear that my ability to see every problem might mean I'll never be a millionaire as I won't take risks. However one question, does a UK phone work with a US sim? It's just that there was an issue on the mobile phone thread about iphones coming in from the US and not having full access to all the services in the UK.
Apologies if it is a silly question BTW, I really am not very techie.
I don't sell phones outside the UK, the fact that a buyer could change their mind and get a full refund and leave me out of pocket for corier postage would be enough.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I agree and I determine risk management on a sliding scale based on price of item! Something at that end of the scale would need to tick nearly all the boxes, certainly not leave a couple of huge ones unticked.
As for the sim, I don't have a clue either. :rotfl:
OP, if you do come back on here before you send, please please rethink this. It is not too late to refund and ask the buyer to repay via a bank. The worst and most you risk on this is a NPS and negative. At present, you risk losing at lot more.0 -
Whilst I think it does not make sense paying that much for one, I do know that it is very difficult to get hold of in the States, and a lot of people there do not seem to like AT&T so that could be the reason. My brother was over from Alabama a little while ago and was complaining that he did not have time to get an Iphone 4 while he was here and no way would he get one in the States locked to AT&T!!
Having said that, I would now assume that it would work with a US sim, but cannot be sure.
Personally I would have bitten his hand off when he offered a bank transfer - you don't have to give any more details than is written on a cheque, and it does not give them access to your account other than to pay in the money. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Going back to the original point DHL will probably ask you to supply 5 or 6 copies of the invoice which are put in a plastic pocket on the front of the packet for customs. With carriers it is almost certain that fees will be charged. Do not under-declare as you will then have no insurance.
The stick on labels mentioned are for PO items.
As others have said it seems very odd that a US buyer wants to import from here. Are they TSFE and think your price is in dollars?0 -
An unlocked GSM phone will work with any GSM sim card. Some imported Iphones were simply not as advertised, they were still locked.0
