Tavel insurance cooling off period

I think I've seen somewhere that you have 14 days to cancel an insurance policy...

I'm having trouble receiving 2 travel insurance policies from moneysupermarket.com (email issues, not sure if it's me or them at the moment). If we can't solve it and I literally can't receive the policy documents, the insurance is obviously no use to me, and hence I'd want to cancel it.

Would this be ok to do i.e. maybe you have 14 days from when you receive the policy, rather than when you purchase it?
Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard
