Hello. Asking for my sister. She has been told (on the phone) she has scored 21 points and has passed her medical.
I have looked on the net and am not sure what happens now.
Is she on this benefit permanently?
Thanks for any help

Hi. From what you say your sister has been awarded ESA but I am not sure if she has yet been assessed as to whether she goes into the 'support group ' - ( no requirement to undertake work related activity or have work focused interviews ) - or into the ' work-related activity group ' - ( required to undertake work related activity and have work focused interviews) -
Either way ESA will continue to be paid as long as the claimant meets the qualifying rules. So this will depend on the nature of your sister's illness /disability and other criteria that makes her eligible , ( finances, residence in UK etc )
'In some cases, the DWP will reconsider the claimant's capability for work and ESA may be stopped, for example, if s/he no longer has limited capability for work or starts full-time work.'0 -

She will remain on the benefit as long as the DWP decide she meets the criteria. She is likely to have further reviews/medicals.0 -
thank you
She is waiting for a letter to tell her about it.
The whole thing has made her ill with worry. I'm so glad she passed. She can, hopefully, concetrate on getting well0
