in Cutting tax
i have a company car & 5months ago i had a call from fleet department saying eventually they wer changing there ways of doing things & did i want to revert back to the old way & if i did i would still pay the same (£45 p/m) or wait till my current scheme run out approx 2years time,so i said no problem can revert back now if it makes life easier.thought id give payroll a call today to see how much car tax im paying now & it turns out its £60 p/m so im loosing out £15 p/m £180 per year now.so i phoned fleet, they said "sorry the person who dealt with my call 5 months ago has left & what do you want me to about it,nothing i can do" well what a stitch up,sod all i can do i spose

Can you be a bit clearer what the issue is and why you are paying more?
Previous scheme, new scheme, differences etc or were you just venting?GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

sorry bit of both... venting/may be something i can do...
£45 p/m scheme was called ingear scheme where the car was in my name, bit of company tax dodge i think as by rites i own the car as its in my name even tho its a company car & they own it..
now its gone back to the old way where it goes on my tax code, not sure how it works probly like a conventional tax on company car & now the company is the regestered keeper but now its costing me £60 pm insted of £45 pm in tax..if my company had said from the start that if i revert back to the conventional way (which was opional) it was going to cost me extra £15pm then i would of stuck to the ingear scheme, but as they said i will still pay the same (£45)i just said yes no probs..0 -
If there is no option to revert again then you could ask them to cover the additional cost.
Don't think there are many other options.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

theres no option to go back to ingear, basically we have been bought out by another company & are doing things there way.no chance of a refund ect..thanks anyway0

It looks like the new company has identified the old scheme as not allowed by HMRC.
I take it you never previously received a P11D and now will....
Did you sign an original agreement at £45.00 pcm if so refer to that as your agreement, when the amount changed they should have got you to sign another agreement. Ask them to cover the difference.0 -

When the car was in your name who had to pay the tax, insurance, servicing and so on? If you were personally responsible for any expenses but these are now being paid by the company you could be much better off.The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us
Baby we were born to walk0 -
They must have made you sign something in order to authorise the change. What did it say about a change in monthly cost?0

i cant remeber recieveing a p11d form, also cant remeber signing a form for the £45 pm as we just recived a letter saying that we was going over to the in gear scheme & there was nothing for us to do as it was all done for us
nope no new forms to sign eitther, was just a phone call
when i was with the ingear scheme (the car was reg to me) it was no different than being when it was conventional taxed way..eg company pay for ins/tax/running ect the in gear scheme worked like this, rather than me paying the taxman the £45 pm it would come out of my monthly wages (still £45) & goto the company insted so that way the company would get the £45 insted of the taxman0 -
i have just found my p11d form but thats basically from what i can work out is just a change of tax code due to going back to the old way of car taxing0
