Help: Phone line stuck in the Laptop socket

Hi there,
I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop about 4 months old now and I usr=e dialup internet over it. Today I accidently stumbled over the phone line which was connected to the laptop. After that although I didnt have any problem connecting to the net (thanx heavens for thet!!! ) but when I tried to take out the connector from the socket in the laptop, it wouldnt come out. I even tried using a foreceps to press the plastic thingy a bit hard and pull it out but to no vail.
Now what it means is that the wire will be connected to the laptop all the time.

Any Geeks out there who can help me with this!!!
Many thanks;)
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T

  • The clip is the only thing that holds it in, use a bit of force.

Thanks, I have used quite a lot of force, I am afraid if I use a bit more the socket will come out as well.... So I am a bit scared.
Could it be that after the incedent (something might have been bent or something in the socket wich is holding the wire in because earlier on there was no probe at all.

Sounds like the clip thing may have fractured but not broken off - try sliding a small screwdriver, straightened paper clip etc between the top of the clip and the laptop phone/modem socket.
