Hey guys could really do with some advice, we have decided to go camping next month and are complete novices so are starting from scratch. We need a 2 room tent, theyre will be 2 adults & 2 teenagers. We are looing to spend around £100. I have a littlewoods catalogue and have seen a couple in there, but havn't a clue if they are decent.
We need fairly big rooms as i have a massive queen size airbed. Really unsure as to where to start looking.
Thanx in advance....... Hope ive posted in right place

For that sort of money I would personally be looking on ebay or small ads pages for something second hand. There are a lot of people who spend £250+ on a tent and then only use it once. A £100 four man tent is not going to be very good. Even on ebay that's tight money! Having said that its better to spend less until you are sure you are going to like it - we borrowed a friends the first time we went before buying our own.
Better makes are Coleman, Outwell, and to a degree Vango and Khyam.
Have a look and see what's going and then check out reviews on ukcampsite.co.uk - you'll find a review of pretty much anything worth having on there. Keep an eye on where they are as most are collection only.
We got a Coleman weathermaster off there a few weeks back for around £100 - supposedly a 4 man tent but the two bedrooms take up less than a third of the interior space so its huge! There is a new Coleman coastline 4 on there for £125 but you'll need to check the dimensions as I recall these had a fairly small living space.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Oh and if you are quick Asda are selling off the little Bistro stoves (one burner stove in a case) for less than £10 (can be up to £20 at times) - these are really easy to use, and its not that hard to work out one pot meals (or buy two for more flexibility!)Adventure before Dementia!0

I bought this for a camping trip recently and would recommend it:

If you'd willing to spend £100 you might be better off with this one however:

I found the 4 man tent a little tight- it's a decent sized bedroom but I don't think you'd get a queen size mattress in there. There was only three of us and one had to sleep in the communal area for us to be comfortable. Four people would have plenty of space and privacy in the above tent and there are measurements so you can check if they're big enough.
Cyber Checkout were really good as well. I paid £70 for my tent and they send the wrong one out twice due to a computer glitch. They were really apologetic about it and gave me a £20 refund for my trouble.0 -
This looks a good deal, instore only and you neeed to join which is £4 but a great quality brand and loads of space with the free canopy. HTH, Jo x

If there's a decathlon near you it's well worth a visit: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/
Really helps to see the tents actually up, always decent quality.0 -

Kirsty and Phil say never buy a house to fit your sofa, always the other way round! I would support a similar attitude to tent buying. You can pick up a new double airbed from Go Outdoors for £6. Sell the other on eBay.
I'm highly excited at the prospect of purchasing this little beauty in the next couple of weeks: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/seconds-base-4-2-74200814/0 -
