Caugettes in pots?

HI Guys

I have a Cougette plant growing on one of my raised beds, it just keeps giving and giving but takes up a lot of space. can Caugette plants be grown in a large pot instead?

  • For sure! We had to take a couple of plants out of the bed because they were getting too big and now they're doing better than the one's left behind!

    I grow my cougettes in 99p builders buckets I bought from B&Q (1 courgette to each bucket).

    I drilled drainage holes in the side of the buckets, about 1/2" to 1" from the bottom. Filled the bucket with perlite(sp) up the the drainage holes and then filled up with compost.
    RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

    I've got 2 courgette plants in a raised bed that I've trained to grow over the side of the bed onto the gravel that surrounds the bed. You have to carefully plan where you let them do this so they don't get walked on, but it's working fine for me

    Wish I'd done the same with the butternut squash!
