Hi
Any chance of letting us know what this cost to have installed per square meter? Just the system cost and labour not insulation please.
Thanks0 -
Thanks a lot for your reply. My fitter said it cost the same as a 60 watt light bulb, so I'll check that. Also, does it take a long time to heat up?
60W??? The mats use 150-200 Watts/m2, so a 5m2 bathroom could be using a Kilowatt, i.e. 12p/hour. At say 5 hours per day for 6 months a year = £109/year
We've got it in our bathroom (it's the 320W cable one), it's on a thermostat and timer. Nice to have warm tiles though...0 -

Hi,
For a 20m2 pack the cost is £586 + vat which is actually cheaper than the Warmup electrical system.
As for labour, I give my builder/friend £12.50 per hour. He'll fit it in two days, if not less. As I am building a new extension then I'm taking it as if the sub floor would have to be installed anyway so that cost is separate. Remember you have the cost of the insulation board as well. I have 100mm insulation below the concrete but i'm also putting 25mm of insulation for the pipes to sit on with another 75mm of 4 parts sand, 1 part concrete screed above the warm water system to finish off as recommended by Nu Heat.
Once up and running I'll have the satisfaction of having a good sized room heated off my gas central heating instead of expensive electric!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

Just to clarify further water heating system can take a couple of days to install. (at whatever price your builder will install it for)
Electric heating systems take a few hours to install. For both i would use a builder/plumber who has a lot of experience as this can cut installations times.
Depending on your use E.g. leave it on all day or at specific times the running cost will favour electric or water. (water is more efficient when leaving it on for longer periods. Electric has faster heatup times and is better for specific heat up times E.g. Mornings bedroom/bathroom and night lounge/kitchen/bedroom etc.)
