Disability Students Allowance

I'm not sure if this should go into the Student Money Saving board but I'm in a bit of a pickle with my Disability Students Allowance (DSA) application.

I sent off my student loan evidence etc and my DSA application with Dyslexia Screening Report before the deadline. The lady who compiled the report was a teacher at my school who had the necessary special training to do so.

I have recently had a letter from the DSA team telling me that they need the Practicing Certificate Number of this lady (not on the report) in order to process my application. The trouble is, this lady contracted breast cancer last year (!!) and is off sick from work (my former school - which is the only means I have of contacting her through).

I have spoke to secretaries at the school and they have told me they don't hold such information and that I should email in and it will be forwarded to the lady - however they're not sure if she's picking up her emails?! Would it be really selfish and insensitive to ask them to call her at home... I'm thinking, yes? :o

I have also tried (in vain) to contact the institute which awarded the lady here qualification - however I cannot find a working number for them, for record, it's the "Hornsby Institute". And I doubt very much that they would be inclined to give me such information over the phone.

I have contacted the Student Loans people and asked them to leave a note explaining the situation on my file, and have also emailed the DSA team to fully explain what's going on.

Does anyone have any further advice on what I can do?
Two thumbs fresh!:money:

Was this the number you tried? Have you written to them?
  • To be honest I havn't a clue which numbers I tried - there were quite a number of different ones listed on google!

And yes, thankyou, I will write to them - as a child of the techno-age I didn't even consider pen and paper.
