Help!! Debt collection agencies required

Hi There, can anyone recommend the best way to collect monies owed to a small business (mid amount)? Ive tried one collection agency, but could do with some other names or solicitors who would come recommended.:(

I cant recommend any collection companies as I dont use them, I did work for RBS factoring in the past and wouldnt touch them with a barge pole

Whats the status of the debt? how many days is it overdue?, have you contacted the client?

Its vital that you get to grips with your credit control, is it a case of cant pay or wont pay?

Speak to Sean Stevens at Creditmandotnet

He offers a good service in helping you to collect payment on your invoices.

    Don't bother.

If your debtors are not paying you, and you have reason to believe it's a case of won't pay rather than can't pay, then small claims court (or online using MCOL). It's cheap, easy and you'll usually be awarded your court costs and expenses back in any succesful outcome, backed up by a CCJ if they still fail to pay.

Of course, if you don't know where your debtors now are, that's another issue.

Small claims online is an option, otherwise if your a member of the FSB or Chamber of Commerce or a similar trade body they will usually be able to recommend someone.

If you do use a recovery agent, remember PAY NO MONEY UP FRONT!

If they are as good as they will claim to be they'll only want payment after you have received yours ;)

Thanks everyone but I’m not sure in small claims will cover it? We’re talking around 28k made up from various invoices.
Will def look in creditmandotnet tho as well!
Be quite nice to hand the problem over to someone else to chase as well!

You can use MCOL for claims up to £99,999.99

However, if the claim is defended, you are probably right in that it won't be allocated to the small claims, fast track process.

Contact a solicitor for advice. If the claim is defended but you are successful in your claim, legal costs will usually be awarded in addition to the original amount claimed (unlike fees a debt collection agency will probably charge you)

I have contacted creditmandotnet. Can i ask why he comes so highly regarded? He does seem very quick and efficiant, but would be nice to know What he has done for others.

Also will look into solicitors, if we pay nothing anyway. Will get on the case this afternoon! ;)

Wish we had a magic wand.... i would certainly turn the guy concerned into a toad... that swiftly get squashed by a passing car! :D

Kerry - Creditmandotnet is a wonderful guy, I know people that have used his services although I haven't had a need yet, I know that I will use him when the time comes. He is fair and charges a fair price.

I've used these guys a couple of times, they've done a good job for me and at a reasonable price.
