They will still need to sell it. You have to remember this is a fantasy cottage - we fantasise about winning it, the Daily Mail fantasise about giving it away, if the French cottage is anything to go by, still no sign of a winner for that one, I did email them, but of course no reply
I live in hope and keep entering it though0 -
Apparently the address is 7 Hawk End Lane, Elmswell, Suffolk.
The area doesn't look great, but if anyone wins it you could always sell it
Is someone living there?0 -

It is interesting looking at the sale prices for that cottage when it changed ownership previously.
* I've deletede this bit because I don't think Hawk End Cottage is No 7 *

In 2001 that cottage changed hands for £62,000
Three years later in 2004 it changed hands for £168,000

we know from the etate agent page that it is 'Hawk End Cottage', and nethouseprices say it sold 29 Sept 2006 for £250,000 . That name fits with it being the oldest property in Hawk End Lane. Whether it is also number 7, I don't know.0

I think I have sussed it. I was going by Lazuli's post ( post number 67) when I thought the address was number 7.
But now I think it has no number just the name Hawk End Cottage in Hawk End Lane.
I think Lazuli may have got that number 7 from it being the 7th sale transaction listed for Hawk End Lane and that was for Hawk End Cottage.
So tgroom57 is correct with that sale price of £250,000 in 20060 -
....... And would you believe there is even another website that thinks it is No 6
http://www.rpoints.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=1404193
But that is obviously wrong because No 6 on net prices is listed as a 'Semi'.0 -
Here's a better link with more photos:

Listed Building - nightmare! You can't do anything to them without costing an arm and a leg! AND a railway line at the end of the garden! If I win, it will be up for sale as soon as possible so I can go and buy my dream place with a sea view..... lol0 -
Reading further down...
The property currently has planning permission and listed building consent....
which may help to explain the current price tag. If I win (ha!) I shall move in and enjoy... the kitchen is already bigger than what I have here.0
