You are not 'chosen' as such.
Every January, the Court service receives the llatest list of eligable people registered to live within the County the court is based-in. This list starts at 'a', and over the year, the court service works its way alphabetically toward 'z'. So long as you remain eligable to be a juror, you will remain on the list.
I found this out by asking a neighbour who was a magistrate.Never Knowingly Understood.

Thanks but I still dont really understand it, it sounds like everyone would get asked then? Why did I get picked but many people I know live same area who have names before me alphabetically who didnt get picked?0
