buying a new printer plus ink

I'm after a new printer with the following

• don't care about colour printing
• don't care about photo printing
• just want to print in black
• ideally have a scanner incorporated - must be able to scan in colour
• easy to source and buy ink cartridges
• ink cartridges that dont cost the earth
• dont care about memory card slots

Mainly going to be used for printing CVs and letters.

I've got an all-in-one lexmark x85 at moment, scanner is brilliant but has run out of ink and I'm led to believe that ink cartridges cost a fortune for them (20 colour, 70 black)

Consider a laser printer, it should serve your requirements better than an inkjet printer.

look up inkemporium.co.uk for ink prices ,used for last 3/4 years free postage and very good prices ,you could price printer from ink prices , I have brother DCP-330C ink is peanuts. so is my epson stylus D120
bought both starting with ink price [emporiums copy ] and never any trouble.

£70 for a cartridge - whoever is leading you to believe that has no clue

No sorry, its a number 20 for the colour cartridge and a number 70 for the black cartridge ..... they are numbers NOT prices
