Electricity monitor Q
I turn everything off at night except fridge and clock and sky+ and so far my electricity monitor.
Is the data stored in the receiver or the transmitter i.e. if I unplug the receiver during the night will the transmitter store the data until the receiver is switched on again?
I was going to try it but don't want to lose any data stored by unplugging the receiver.

What sort of monitor?
The one from EonWhy do you want to unplug it?
I unplug/switch off at the socket everything every night, unless it needs to be on 24/7/365 like fridges and freezers and alarm clock. Even my computer and modem are unplugged every night.0 -
The Eon website shows some FAQs:
''Will information be lost in the event of a power cut?
All stored information (time, unit cost, and historic data) will be held in the memory, although the clock will remain at the time when the power stopped.
Do I unplug the monitor when I leave the house?
We’d recommend leaving it on so you can see how much you’re using when you’re not there. The monitor will store your hourly consumption on a rolling 30 day basis.''0 -

yes, but will the electricity that I have used when the monitor is unplugged for 8 or so hours be stored in the transmitter or will that usage data be lost?0 -
Nothing is stored in the transmitter.
The monitor should store the accumulated readings. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Hi Marcus
Already some good advice on here about our monitors. Concerning your specific question, I have just spoken to our technical people and they confirm the following.
When the monitor is unplugged, all usage up to this point is pre-recorded, stored and can be retrieved once the unit is plugged back in.
However, all electricity used whilst the monitor is unplugged will not be recorded and is lost.
For the best results, we recommend you leave the monitor on at all times. This costs about 2p per week.
Hope this answers your question Marcus. Give me a shout if you need any more advice as will be happy to help.

After a slight disagreement with my wife, my monitor was switched off for a night but I have got it back and yes, I found out that the transmitter does not store the data.0
